Barack Obama - His early life

He was born the 4th of August 1961. His birth name is Barack Hussein Obama. His religion is Christian. Obama was a troubled teenager, his mum Ann Dunham and his dad Barack Obama Senior split up when he was just 2 years of age. His parents were not the best that they could have been. He went to many schools in Jakarta, like Desuki Public school until he headed to high school when he was 10. He returned to his grandparents and started high school at Panahou School from the 5th grade in 1971 until his graduation from school in 1979.

Sadly Obama’s father died in 1982 in an automobile accident. His mother returned to Hawaii for 5 years then went back to live in Indonesia. She stayed there for most of her life before returning to Hawaii in 1994.
She died of ovarian cancer in 1995.

Obama got the job as a civil rights lawyer in Chicago before campaigning to be president. He turned out to be the youngest and first African-American to win the presidency in November 2008. He officially became the 44th president of the United States of America on Tuesday 20th January 2009.
