Teacher Come Dancing

Chantry High School is doing a ‘Teacher Come Dancing’ event later this year. It will be based on the television show from BBC.

There will be 6 pairs participating in the dancing. The contestants are… Mr Moseley& Miss Hands, Miss Goddard & Mr Rae, Miss Cook & Mr Woods, Mr Payne& Miss Hendin, Mr and Mrs Overing and Mr Fell with his mystery partner. The dancers will have a difficult time being judged by… Miss Morrow, Miss Andrews, one lucky year 11 student and one of the schools governors.

The ‘Teacher Come Dancing’ is for charity; the money made will go towards Comic Relief, which will be given to people in Africa affected by poverty.
Each pair will be doing two dances, Modern and Ballroom.

We think some teachers may have an advantage in the contest, because it has been said that a couple of teachers have been taking dancing lessons, and we also think that our p.e teachers have an advantage because they are most probably more active than the others.

The tickets are approximately £4.00 each. So why don’t you come along and see it. It will be a good laugh and a load of fun to take part in also it will be even better it will be for a good charity.

Interview with Miss Morrison, event organiser

Zoe: Where did you get the idea for the event from?

Miss Morrison: Well it was actually all Mr Moseley’s idea, he’d organised a similar event at his last school where I used to work with him.

Amy: So he thought it would be a good idea to bring it to Chantry?

Miss Morrison: Yes!

Zoe: Who is helping you to organise the event?

Miss Morrison: My Year 11 Ramsey Kershaw gifted group are doing most of the organising. They’re in charge of the technical things and the press office. They’ll be designing and selling the tickets. They’re also in charge on the night, making sure everything goes well. One of them is going to be a judge too so all the teachers had better be extra nice to them if they’d like to win!

Amy: Who do you both think will win?

Zoe: I’m not sure yet, I am sure they will all be great!

Miss Morrison: I couldn’t possibly say, that would be unfair. I do know that some of the teacher couple have been working hard. You’ll have to come and see on the night.
