Positive Parenting Programme
We all strive to be good parents and the challenges are many. Would you like a chance to find out how you can strengthen your parenting techniques? Triple P was developed at the University of Queensland, Australia, by Professor Matt Sanders, a clinical psychologist, and is now run worldwide. There are a variety of different group and individual programmes varying according to need, from universal (information and advice), through to support with common issues in children and young people, to group programmes and 1:1 work (both face to face and by phone). It’s a fantastic opportunity to take time out to really think about parenting in today’s busy life!
During February, here at Chantry High School we will be offering an opportunity for parents to attend Group Triple P Teen. So, come along and meet other parents and learn/gain some new skills for parenting. You will be offered strategies for positive parenting, encouraging desirable behaviour, managing misbehaviour and managing risk taking behaviour for teens.
The programme starts on 27 February and ends on 2 April and runs between 12.30 and 2.30pm. It is an eight week programme and five weeks are in attendance at the school with the other weeks being 1:1 telephone calls with you to focus in on your family.
