Safer schools officer
My name is Emma Billett and I am a Police Community Support Officer within the South West of Ipswich.
I have been working within Chantry High since December 2009 and have got to know a lot of students during that time. I have also worked within the South West Safer Neighbourhood Team since December 2007.
I am in school to work with students and staff to promote good citizenship, key safety and crime reduction issues and to offer advice and help when needed.
Some examples of my work are listed below:
Advice given re improper use of Facebook and text messaging.
Crime reduction advice & security marking of bikes and mobile phones.
Litter and anti-social behaviour patrols at lunchtimes.
Advice to young people regarding Domestic Violence.
A missing young person found swiftly due to the relationships built up with the students and staff.
Careers advice given, and assisted students with applications for further education.
