Ipswich Town Players Visit Chantry

Ipswich Town Players with Chantry Students

Jimmy Bullard and Jason Scotland, two of Ipswich Town FC’s first team players came into Chantry High to meet the year 11 BTEC Sport students. They held a question and answer session where students were able to ask questions such as, ‘What are the best bits of being a professional footballer?’, ‘How often do you train?’, ‘What do you do in your free time?’, ‘When did you become a professional?’, ‘How intense is it living in the media spotlight?’, ‘What is like playing in front of thousands of fans?’

Jimmy and Jason also met some other year 11 pupils in PE and also some Beacon Hill Students who were participating in PE Lesson with some Chantry High Pupils. Pupils were able to have their photo taken with the players and they willingly signed autographs.

Every month Jimmy and Jason will be coming into school and will be working with pupils in other subjects, not just PE.

‘It was a good and exciting experience, it’s interesting to find out what they had to do to become a professional and to see how a famous person lives their life. We are looking forward to working with them again in the future.’ Shannon Giles
