The Library at Chantry High School has a very wide range of books and literature for reading / research by students. Visiting authors can frequently be seen talking to students about their books and experiences. The library also runs book fairs and a wide range of competitions involving the local primary schools. Our friendly library staff are always on hand to offer help and advice.

Gone Fishing! (37 images)

On the 13 March, Mr Wilder took a group of ten students fishing to Creeting Lakes, Stowmarket. The students had to earn twenty fishing vouchers by doing positive things around school to earn the right to come on the trip. All the boys behaved impeccably on the day and all caught fish (as you can see from the pictures even Mr Wilder, Mr Saunders and PCSO Billet got in on the act). An extra special well done to our only two Year 7 students, Thomas and Daniel who caught the most fish and the two biggest fish (around 5lb) on the day!!!!

EastFeast Project at Chantry (African Quadrangle Project) (20 images)

Chantry High School received funding from EastFeast to work on two environmental projects: 1) To develop an African classroom and garden in the quadrangle at Chantry High School; 2) To research food waste and recycling in the school kitchen as part of the 'Love food hate waste' project.

A new era began on 8 March when the Ipswich Guards Detachment of Suffolk Army Cadet Force who were originally based in the Territorial Army centre on Yarmouth Road moved to Chantry High School marking the cooperation between the School and the Army Cadet Force. The occasion was marked by a ?March in? parade.

50th Anniversary Dinner (17 images)

Chantry High School celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a dinner for staff, students and governors representing past, present and future. The evening was kindly hosted by Suffolk New College, at Shelleys Restaurant. There were four Headteachers from Chantry spanning 1976 to the present day. The celebration recorded an important time for the school as it looks forward to a very exciting future.

Year 7 - Mail Art (32 images)

Year 7 have been working with Rebecca Guyver to capture their recent experience at Maidenhall People's Garden on a piece of mail art. Mail art is art that travels through the postal system. The postcards made are now on display at Tesco Copdock.

African Garden Project (19 images)

Chantry High School is working together with our cluster primary schools and the People's Community Garden on Maidenhall Allotments to develop an African garden based on knowledge and skills acquired from our partner school in Buhumba, Uganda.
